Flow over force
Flow Over Force
As we step into 2025, one of my key intentions is to embody and invite others into the principle of Flow Over Force. This isn’t just a philosophy—it’s a way of living, moving, and being that aligns deeply with non-dual Tantric teachings and the natural intelligence of life itself.
In our fast-paced, achievement-driven world, we’re often taught to push, grind, and force our way forward. Whether it’s on the yoga mat, in our careers, or in relationships, there’s this underlying belief that effort equals value and that struggle leads to success. But what if there’s another way? What if the most profound transformation happens not when we push harder but when we let go and align with the natural current of life?
What Flow Over Force Means
At its core, Flow Over Force is about trusting the process instead of trying to control the outcome. It’s about finding the path of least resistance while honouring the challenges and strength that inevitably arise. Flow doesn’t mean bypassing effort—it means approaching effort with softness and presence. It’s about meeting resistance without trying to overpower it, allowing it to guide us toward deeper alignment rather than becoming an obstacle.
This principle is deeply rooted in the Tantric understanding of Shakti, the creative energy of the universe. Shakti flows naturally and abundantly, moving in harmony with the rhythms of nature. When we align with this flow, we experience a sense of ease, grace, and connection—even in moments of intensity or challenge.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Flow Over Force is something I actively cultivate in my own life and in my offerings. For me, it means releasing the idea that I need to "achieve" anything through sheer willpower. Instead, I focus on tuning into what feels aligned, trusting my intuition, and moving from a place of inner guidance rather than external pressure.
In a practical sense, this might look like:
Adjusting a yoga practice to match your energy levels, rather than forcing yourself into a rigid routine.
Letting your body move intuitively instead of trying to fit into an idealised shape or posture.
Trusting the timing of your journey, even when things feel slow or uncertain.
Embracing the strength and resistance you meet as opportunities to deepen into flow, not as barriers to overcome.
Why This Matters
Flow Over Force isn’t just a personal practice—it’s a radical rejection of patriarchal and capitalist conditioning. These systems have taught us to value productivity over presence, perfection over process, and dominance over harmony. Choosing flow is an act of resistance, a way to reclaim our right to rest, intuition, and alignment.
It’s also a practice of deep trust—trusting that life is inherently supportive, that you are held, and that you don’t need to force or control your way to wholeness. In truth, you already are whole.
An Invitation
As you navigate 2025, I invite you to explore what Flow Over Force might look like for you. How can you soften your approach while staying present with your strength? How can you honour your resistance without letting it define you? And how can you trust the natural rhythm of your life, even when it feels uncertain?
This intention is something I’ll carry into every offering I create. When you step into these spaces, you won’t be asked to push, achieve, or strive. Instead, you’ll be invited to tune into your unique flow and let that guide you.
Here’s to a 2025 where we embrace flow over force and honour the wisdom of simply being. 💛
